First Annual Golf Tournament & Dinner

Richmond Schoolyard Society Golf Tournament, September 6, 2012

The Richmond Schoolyard Society has partnered with the Shaughnessy and Greenacres Golf Clubs to hold the first annual golf tournamnet and dinner.

The Thursday September 6th event, to be hosed at Greenacres Golf Course, is in support of the Shaugnessy/Greenacres Richmond Children's and Youth Endowment Fund. This fund has been established to support the health of children and youth in Richmond.

The event includes 18 holes of golf, in a scamble format, with a shotgun start at 1:00pm; dinner ,featuring food from or very own school gardens; a live auction, hosted by Bill Chalmers; a presentation from the Richmond Schoolyard Society; and many great prizes.

Our Garden

Students in Richmond are learning about food production and sustainability, but as reporter Keanan Kipp found out, it's not in a conventional classroom.
